ABOUT
The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is the original prestige online poker series, launched by PokerStars in 2002. It was the first series to bring the world championship concept to the online realm, creating an event structure that other platforms would subsequently emulate.
Held each September, WCOOP features over 70 events across all buy-in tiers and poker formats. The High events — featuring buy-ins of $5,200 to $25,000+ — attract the world's best online and live tournament players and represent some of the most hotly contested events in online poker. Total prize pools across the series routinely exceed $100 million.
WCOOP has a storied history that includes victories by many of the game's greatest names. In the online poker community, a WCOOP High title carries a prestige comparable to a live WSOP bracelet — evidence that the winner competed against and defeated the best players in the world.
